One of my favourite bookstores!! Absolutely filled to the brim with awesome books but what has really made this one special is the wonderful service.
I bought a book from TITLE last year which i wanted to gift to a friend, and leaving it to last minute realised it wasn’t in stock anywhere, yet TITLE ordered it in for me! It arrived within a week and i was able to collect it in time!
The book is Ten Drinks that Changed the World by Semi Lynch - it’s not your basic cocktail book but almost a history into the development and cultural significance that certain spirits have had in different places and times, as well as some recipe recommendations 🙂

Dishonest shopkeeper - I asked how much a poster was and the man replied “How much do you think it is?” I answered “$25” given Sydney city prices for stuff like this, and he immediately quipped back “You’re exactly right!” In hindsight the speed to which he replied makes me think this is not the first time he’s done this. Half the store items were unmarked.

When he put the item through the system, it automatically came up as $20, but he quickly amended the pricing, thinking I wouldn’t notice. I wasn’t comfortable to correct him as I was a bit shocked - I’m disgusted at the dishonesty and won’t be shopping there again. I will be telling my friends about my experience. After reading other people’s negative reviews, I’m now sure he was motivated by racism.

Such a shame as they had so many lovely books and I did intend to come back.

Rule no. 2: never go past a great bookstore without browsing and perhaps picking up a story. There's a fantastic selection of novels and different non-fiction titles. Title also has a small, and eclectic selection of vinyl and CDs. Great art books and other stuff. Oh: rule no. 1: never eat anything bigger than your head (except for a great pizza).

TITLE shop in Barangaroo. In these dreadful times of vanishing fine bookstores replaced by nail polishing saloons, TITLE became a sanctuary (knock the wood, for how long) for baby boomers and tasteful Millennials alike. There is hard-to-find gems, fine coffee table books on avantgarde Art and titles of books that will give you goosebumps. They even have a limited but fine selection of vinyl LPs at the corner. Small store, but your gem is hidden somewhere that will inspire you, guaranteed. So take your time and savour.

책 가격이 호주 달러로 표시되어 있지 않고 미국달러 및 영국 달러 등으로 표기되어있습니다. 나이든 남자 주인은 굉장히 친절해보였지만 이런 점을 이용하여 외국인 관광객들에게 말도 안되는 마진을 붙여 판매하고 있습니다. 결제 후 말도 안되는 가격에 대해 항의하니 그제서야 환불을 해줬습니다. 2024년 이렇게 장사하는 곳이 있다는 것에 많이 놀랐습니다.

TITLE's general staff are considerate, kind, and helpful. However, the owner of the business is extremely condescending and rude (unfortunately, he also works on the store floor).

Earlier this year I had a long conversation with him at the Barangaroo store. Although the conversation was initially fun and light-hearted, he made multiple "micro-aggressive" racist comments behind customers' backs after they left. I thought I would give him another chance, but he directed the same prejudicial attitude toward me on a recent visit by speaking at me with a fake Asian accent. I recommend that the guy read some Frantz Fanon.

I am grateful that his true colours were revealed as I will be advising my family of avid record collectors to bring their business elsewhere.

Love this little bookstore has some amazing titles that you won’t see anywhere else. The staff are very professional and know their stuff. A rare little find in Sydney.
