I am new to homeschooling and have been to this store twice. The first time was a great experience, the lady was so helpful, knowledgable and I left feeling optimistic that I was doing the right thing by pulling my child out of public school.

However, the second time I came was a different scenario. I came to purchase this year's curriculum and while I have done my research, I still wanted to get advice from her as she was so helpful before. I made sure to come when it was not busy and when I could take my time. This time, the lady was extremely rude and short with me. She pushed one particular curriculum that I knew would not work for my child and attempted to make me feel as if there is something wrong with my child because of it. A nearby couple shopping was far more helpful than the worker. I stepped outside (as others have stated, no cell reception in building) and researched the items I was looking at. I found all of it to be same priced on line, or cheaper. While I was willing to pay a higher price based on my initial visit... this was an entirely different experience and so I left without spending the hundreds of dollars I was ready to spend.

My second experience was unfortunate. This store seems to have everything. It is overwhelming and perhaps a bit unorganized, but that can be easily overlooked if you have done your research before, take your time, and come prepared. Because of my last experience, I will likely not return. Kindness goes a long way in today's world.

I needed to check out a new curriculum before buying. The staff here not only helped ne fund what I was looking for, they were a wealth of information about the curriculum itself, which books I needed and helped see if used copies were available. I was able to look through the books and got a good idea of what teaching it would be like. Thank you! I also sold some schoolbooks I bought but didn't end up using. That process was very straightforward and easy and they give a fair price. They don't like older versions of books though, which is understandable. Their used curriculums are about half price. They also sell new books and curriculums. The ones I saw compare with what you buy online, but you save on shipping and get them right away.

I have bought my children their school curriculums here for quite some time, but unfortunately my recent visit was a poor one, alot of thoughts on why maybe I received the treatment I did, but will not comment any further.

Check out a photo of JUST part of the used book section. Awesome play space for kids and even a work space for older kids if you need a longer browse.

However, the very best part is the knowledgeable staff!

Don’t plan on using your internet inside the store. Take picture of what you need in the used section, show those to the staff and voilà, book in hand! Print out your list, maybe make two copies so they can help you faster.

The store is organized by subject not vendor/publisher so be sure to organize your list accordingly. Author and Title make things go faster but a picture is even faster.

I think we’ve been coming here since 1999? Even when we lived in San Antonio I’d take a road trip with friends to shop here 🥳

Houston has to be one of the best places to be a homeschool family! I don’t know about you, but I really need to put my hands on curriculum before I commit to it. Look no further fellow homeschoolers— the homeschool store has just about anything you could ever want or need. Plus, the staff is sooo helpful! What are you waiting for? Go check them out!

Such a hidden gem. Had no idea this place existed. Saw it on Tesas homeschool 101 Facebook. It was totally worth the drive. So many options from new to used, books, supplies, study guides, everything you need in 1 stop.

Aisles of everything you want! New curriculum, cheaper-than-anywhere used books and many unusual learning games to keep them tuned in to your subjects! This place is heaven on earth!
