Small quirky book store with great reading options and a coffee shop in the rear of the store. Lots of art and the smell of a bookshop is appeasing. Grab a book, a coffee, and enjoy the present moment!

Stories Books and Cafe is Echo Park's stalwart source of quality books, coffee, wine and food. They sell general interest new and used books with a focus on literary fiction, music, poetry and the arts.

It was my first time that I delve into this bookstore. It has a quaint interior and vibe; I like the smell of their books. As you enter you’ll meet this old curly gray haired lady staff overseeing the store. She’s like the great custodian of Gondor seeing and knowing all things.

You’ll easily notice their limited tables and chairs to read and drink coffee or tea. On Weekends, the store tends to get really busy, crowded and cramped like you’re in a flea market. I like that this bookstore has a coffee bar inside just like Barnes & Noble. Overall, it’s a nice little quaint bookstore.

The atmosphere and employees are great. The outside patio is wonderful. Overall, it was a great place to read/write and enjoy a caffeinated beverage of your choice. Kitchen closes as early as 230pm as posted by signage

Heard about this place online so decided to pop by. They have a lovely shaded patio out back where you can enjoy a drink. This place is cute with lots of books to buy however the staff I encountered let it down. The lady who served me my drink at the counter was slightly rude and unfriendly. On this basis I probably would return or recommend as staff being pleasant is important. Visited the new picnik cafe in echo park the same day where the staff were so friendly in comparison what a difference.

One of my favorite places in LA. Come here 2-3x a month to peruse the bookshop and sit in the cafe. I do wish the quality of coffee in the cafe was a bit better—but the atmosphere more than makes up for it.

Great coffee, fantastic selection of baked goods we particularly enjoyed the Cuban pie and almond croissant, reasonably priced. All in a very interesting book store, had we not been flying we would have bought many books there.

Stories is a cafe/book store that is the ultimate spot to hang out in. The cafe serves coffee, kombucha, beer, and wine and has pastries by Clark Street. There’s a back patio and some indoor seating. Wifi is available for customers! There are also a lot of books to look through at decent prices. Love coming here to support small businesses and hang out!
