This location is my favorite. I grew up in the Montrose area so I love coming back here to reminisce my childhood. Now I bring my daughter here and she enjoys it too.

As the summer comes to an end, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the staff at Freed Montrose Library. This library has been the highlight of our summer. While my kids aren’t huge readers, each of them found a library event they loved.

My younger children adored Anna's craft sessions on Wednesdays. Her creativity and patience made every session a joy, and my kids eagerly awaited each one.

All my children, including my eight-year-old who often gets dragged to the library, love PJ Story Time on Tuesday evenings. I've attended story times for almost seven years, and this is the most engaging and interactive one I've ever experienced. Regina and Keyanna are amazing storytellers. They keep the audience engaged, get us moving, let kids read, and handle all the children's requests without missing a beat.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the names of two other librarians. Though they weren't directly involved in the events, each time we returned books or opened an account, they engaged in genuinely warm conversations with all three of my children (my youngest is three). My kids loved being treated like adults when these librarians took the time to ask about their day, their favorite books, or simply shared a laugh with them. Their kindness and interest made every visit feel special and personal.

Lastly, a special shout out to the lovely interns, Ihsan and Rachel, for their constant help and friendly smiles. They made sure every event ran smoothly and that every child felt included and excited.

Thank you, Freed Montrose Library, for making this summer unforgettable for our family. Your dedication and passion have sparked new interests in my children and fostered a love for learning and community. We look forward to many more visits and adventures at the library.

Nice Montrose neighborhood library located in the old, ivy-walled Central Church of Christ building on Montrose Blvd. one block north of Richmond Ave.

Mystery and suspense are my favorite genres. They have two tables of books for sale at the entrance. Hardback books are $1 and paperbacks are 50¢.

Finding a parking place can be challenging. You might have to park and walk a few blocks. This library will be moving moving to the Montrose Collective located on the 800 block of Westheimer in 2022. I'm looking forward to the new location.

I'm a nanny who visited freed montrose library with my little. It was a pleasant experience Mrs. Kiana is very entergetic and lively such a breath of fresh air.

I enjoyed taking my kids here. The bottom floor is just the children's area. It had plenty of books and toys. We'll be coming back!

I always enjoy this classic Montrose library. It is rarely busy, and they have a nice selection of the latest in fiction. The staff is very nice. They have many programs for little kids, too. Overall, it is small but inviting. A great place to escape for a little solitude.

Overall a decent library. The only cons is that it’s quite small (only one floor) and only one table to sit at without desktops. It’s not the best place to be productive if you’re an adult student or remote worker.

It is clean though with friendly staff!
