Don't get me wrong: I love the flagship BookPeople location. But the airport location is very disappointing. Most major airports now have bookstores with a wide selection of, well, books. That is not the case here. A majority of the space is taken up with items other than books. And the books which are here are displayed with the front facing the customer, not the spine as is the case in most bookstores, allowing for a significantly fewer number of books necessary to fill the same amount of space, leading to a very limited selection. Austin deserves better at its airport, as does BookPeople (in the event someone is licensing the name and operating the store independently of BookPeople).

What a great place to kill some time after getting hassled by TSA. Getting a to-go drink from Salt Lick and come right over. The staff isn’t the friendliest, especially in the morning.

Traveling with little kids, stop by book people and get story books for thm or get some books or magazines for yourself too. If you are a book lover, stop by here and grab a book for yourself

What a fun little airport store! Wonderful selection of kids' Christmas books and gifts. Wish I had a little person to buy for! Great selection of NYT best sellers and also Classics. I may have to buy a Texas cookbook before I leave!

An independent bookstore of quality has become a rare commodity in the age of ebooks and online booksales. Fortunately, we have such a bookstore in Austin, and it is one of the finest in the nation. Book People is a cultural institution, with more than 200 events per year, and a great espresso bar (right next to the well-stocked magazine section). If you ever need a book, resist the urge to go online, and indulge yourself in a brick and mortar bookstore, support local business, and the author. I promise you that the experience will be much more rewarding. Life is offline. And information is not knowledge.

A great independent bookstore with the same selection you'd get at a mainstream bookstore plus the types of smaller releases from local authors you'd expect and want from an independent store. They also have a nice coffee shops and regular signings/talks from local and more well known authors.

Do not expect Southern hospitality at this store. Cashier was very rude and abrupt to the customers. I was buying a book for my grandson and put it back on the shelf and left. I’ll give my business to companies who can provide basic customer service!

Does anyone have the number for this business?
Quick visit, and left my wallet.
The number online seems to not be working.
Tried separate location in Austin, and they are not related.
