A beautiful space to hang out, have a coffee or glass of wine. Felt comfortable enough to bring my book and read whilst being in a social space. Also a great Friday night spot to catch up with friends. A book launched was going on last time when I visited and it was a lovely atmosphere.

Love this book store as not only it's my local bookstore but also you're always greeted with a nice smile, great recommendations (if you ever need one) and during periods of time they have music or poetry nights. It's not only a bookshop but also a space to to catch up with a friend/s/ or just read a book and have a glass of wine. Only downside is that the seating spaces are limited especially in busy times such as the weekend.

I visited Backstory for the launch of Helen Chandler-Wilde's fantastic new book Lost & Found. Backstory is a beautiful space with a really friendly team and I can't wait to visit again soon.

I was thrilled to visit Backstory, London’s best new book, on its opening weekend. They have an excellent range of books, from hard hitting journalism to kids and everything in between. Owner Tom and his right hand man Rory are always on hand for a recommendation or to whip up a coffee (or glass of wine) to enjoy with your book. An absolute must visit!

I ended up dropping by on the opening day with my newborn; despite the crowds and the buzz there was plenty of space to navigate the buggy and even feed her! I love the split between the attractive range of books on one side and the easy-going atmosphere of the drinks area on the other. There is a dearth of good bookshops in south London, making this such a welcome addition. I’m already looking forward to going back and picking another book next weekend.
