I usually leave 5 star reviews to places but this time I can't. The servers were super nice and attentive until we were halfway to finishing eating. They kept looking at us and checking and when we still had some food left they asked if they can take it. Like, no... I'm still eating, I'm not at an eating marathon..then when we confirmed that they can take it,they brought the check in an instant without asking if we need anything else or if we want it now. We were basically told to leave..0 hospitality.
The mandatory service tax is not ok for this service!
The food was normal, but I'm aware we didn't order the most flavorful options. Too expensive for what is offered, in my opinion. Mixed feelings

We visited early sunday evening, so it wasn't busy. The servers were friendly and efficient. The food was delivered quickly and was hot and fresh. We ordered 3 mains and 2 rice for 2 big eaters. The portions were more generous than expected, so we had to ask for a takeaway box. The standout dish for us was the Sichuan chicken. Just the right balance of spice, sweet and sour. Possibly a new favourite in Chinatown, need a 2nd visit to decide ?

There are two Jinli restaurants in Chinatown. This one has a better environment and more customers. The Sichuan-style grilled fish is a must-try signature dish.

The food was okay hit and miss to be honest.

Service was non existing, we were outside the door and the lady was standing at the door didn't even say come inside if you want a table.

Then we were given a table and forgotten about. They gave us menus and the lady stood there until we ordered and it was much like machine work. Change tables, seat people, bring food, take plates and bring bill right away. Noone to check if you need anything else or if the food is okay etc.

The dumplings were tasty in chilli oil (not sure if fresh or frozen but still yummy), chicken chowmein was good but not amazing, it lacked flavour and seasoning and the braised beef was full of potato's and veg underneath as well as being very under seasoned too.

One of my favorite restaurants in Soho. My 4th time to dine here. The pork belly chicken stew was so good that we forgot to take a photo before digging in. We highly recommend it and the Cumin lamb. We were only 3 persons so we didn’t order the signature dish fish. The staff were nice and the place was comfortable, not too packed with tables like other restaurants.
If you want to try something different (not dim sum) in Chinatown, try Jinli!
